AIC Customer Order Processing Wireless Technology
Centennial announces the release of the AIC Trade Show Wireless scanning module. This module expedites the customer order entry process at seasonal trade shows or traditional show room locations. For many companies trade shows are critical to generating new sales for their business. Companies go to shows to preview next year's products as well as sell 'off the shelf' goods. Yet, in many instances it takes weeks after the show to manually enter the orders.
These handwritten orders sometimes contain errors. Shipping dates may be missed, names and addresses are entered wrong and numbers are transposed. Sometimes a sales order may even be lost on the trip home. Upon returning to the office, companies must contend with the possibility of additional input data errors after the show.
The online, real time capabilities of the AIC Software allow orders to be entered quickly and accurately by scanning a UPC bar code. Credit is checked and pick tickets can be generated immediately for 'at once' orders. In addition, a sales order acknowledgement is generated for the customer while they are still in the booth at the show.
Utilizing a PDA scanner, a breakthrough RF wireless computer, designed by Symbol running the Palm OS® the user can rapidly enter orders directly into the AIC order database. Other scanning options are available based on the company's site requirements.
Using the AIC software according to Ken Grindle, VP of Operations, ' the impact of streamlining this costly area of the business will allow companies to consider revamping their customer order processing and logistics processes in order to take advantage of the increase in efficiencies.'
